You already know what you will be using your PC for. Next, decide on how big of a viewing area you are looking for. Measure out how much space you have on your desk or workspace where the monitor will be placed. Unless you already know exactly what screen size you are looking for, a good place to start when looking is within the 24 inch to 34 inch range. Remember, the monitor is a visual representation of your PC’s operating power. Better to have too much than not enough, yet there is no need to break the bank.
Anything less than a 22 inch monitor is not advised. Plain and simple, it’s just too small. A 24 inch 1080p monitor on the other hand can be found for as little as $100. That would be our smallest recommendation. The size limit depends entirely on your budget and desk space. A 27 inch monitor is becoming more common, while there are still countless affordable options that are larger. You want the best viewing possible, but the picture doesn’t always get better the bigger you buy. In the smaller monitors you will lose functionality, while the larger monitors the resolution will suffer.
